this is TIM Penrose

After a service oriented career spanning 30 years, the opening of 25 coffee houses all over the United Kingdom, the development of a thriving plant nursery, winning over 30 RHS Gold Medals, numerous business acquisitions and a Royal Warrant, Tim Penrose should know a thing or two about business.

Tim and Ruth Penrose purchased Bowdens in 2004 from Ann and Roger Bowden, Ruth's Mum and Dad.

With their three daughters Anna, Ellen and Felicity, the Penroses live just a few miles away from the Sticklepath nursery. Tim leads a staff of seven, and spends much of his time strategically managing business acquisitions and marketing initiatives. Meanwhile, Ruth cares for the premium plant specimans used for gardening shows. Together they make a wonderful team!

Tim Penrose opened Hudson’s Coffee House in 1990 in The Birmingham and Midland Institute, a revered, classical library and conference centre in the office quarter of Birmingham.

Tim won The United Kingdom Egon Ronay Award For Best Tea House' from Egon Ronay in 1993 and was listed right up until the guide ceased publication. Hudson’s Coffee House was one of only two in Britain featured on the front cover of 'In Search of Great Coffee’, a listing of the world's most famous coffee houses in 1997.

After the many national and international accolades, Tim sold Hudsons in 2006 to concentrate on the newly acquired Bowden Hostas.
